Digestive surgery

Digestive surgery department

The digestive surgery department focuses on the disorders of the viscera. Our specialist physicians treat benign and malignant diseases of the internal organs using laparoscopic and conventional techniques.

Planned surgery care and mini-invasive surgery include:

  • Parietal surgery (incisional and other hernias)
  • Hepatobiliary surgery (gallstones and liver tumors)
  • Pancreatic and spleen surgery (pancreas tumors and splenomegaly)
  • Esophagus and stomach surgery (tumors, reflux and hiatus hernia)
  • Small intestine surgery (Crohn’s disease and tumor)
  • Colon and rectum surgery (diverticular disease, cancer, prolapse, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis)
  • Gynecological and endocrine surgery
  • Treatment of obesity

Emergency surgery concerns peritonitis (e.g., appendicitis, ulcer or colon perforations) and occlusions.

The department’s priority is to provide rapid and effective care management, the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques and of all the techniques allowing rapid recovery and pain control both with benign diseases and digestive cancers.

The digestive surgery department, headed by Dr. Jérôme Loriau, is composed of 6 highly qualified and experienced surgeons.
